Times Microwave Systems Announces release of LMR-LITE®, SilverLine® Approval by Anritsu and New Deburring Tool
        • With a weight savings of about 30%, LMR-LITE® is becoming increasingly popular since it offers easier handling and significant savings in shipping costs where weight is a factor.
        • Times' unique, patented SilverLine TuffGrip cell site test cable has been approved by Anritsu Company, maker of the well-known Site MasterTM portable analyzer. In mid-2007 Times provided full sets of TuffGrip Test Cables and TuffGrip adaptors to Anritsu who promptly fielded the product to their major accounts managers and largest customers and the feedback was immediate and positive.
        • We have just introduced a new debur tool (DBT-U) which is capable of deburring all of the solid center conductor versions of LMR and T-COM ranging from LMR-195 through LMR-600. This tool will replace the DBT-01 which was limited to deburring the LMR-400 and 600 cables. The tool comes equipped with a three-sided blade allowing for a fresh cutting blade to be rotated into place twice before the cutting tip must be replaced. The combined lifetime of these three cutting surfaces is well in excess of a thousand cable terminations.

Additionally, this tool provides greatly improved ergonomics. The tool is considerably shorter than the DBT-01 and uses a screwdriver type of handle vs. the wooden ball handle that many people felt was difficult to grasp. It is also much easier to squeeze into a tool pouch or a pants pocket.

Synergy Microwave New Compact Coupler Planar Resonator (CCPR) VCO
To overcome the limitations of VCOs based on 3D resonators using ceramic and surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) materials, the designers at Synergy Microwave Corp. have found a way to shrink planar resonators while also applying a unique evanescent mode electromagnetic coupling mechanism to improve the loaded quality factor (Q) of the couple resonators to lower the phase noise.

For more information, please see the the attached article reprint from Microwave and RF Magazine.

Product Spotlight for Emerson & Cuming!
Emerson & Cuming Microwave Products has released the ECCOSORB HR and AN broadband microwave absorber and is developing a new low cost, weatherproof multilayer absorber. These lightweight, flexible, broadband absorbers are cost effective solutions for applications which require a dielectric absorber to reduce RCS, reflections from a structure or minimize antenna backlobes . A similar product, ECCOSORB LS, which is a lightweight, inexpensive, dielectric foam is excellent for antenna isolation and in reducing cavity resonances in the 1-26 GHz range.

At the module level, both rubber and foam based absorbers are available. Non-conductive, magnetically loaded silicones such as ECCOSORB MCS, GDS and BSR and dielectric foams such as ECCOSORB LS and QR offer excellent low frequency performance in reducing oscillations, cavity resonances, and surface currents as low as 800 MHz. Both are available with a peel and stick option and can be easily cut into custom configurations.

For more information on these products, view the datasheets below. For information on other Emerson & Cuming products, follow the link below to their website.

Introducing the ETVA (Extended Temperature Variable Attenuator) from EMC Technology
We are pleased to introduce the new ETVA (Extended Temperature Variable Attenuator) from EMC Technology. This is a much sought after extension to the long-standing TVA Thermopad® series of temperature compensating microwave absorptive attenuators. The TVA & ETVA Thermopad® products provide power dissipation that varies with temperature and can operate from DC to 3GHz. The ETVA offers extended shift, achieving greater temperature compensation beyond that of the original Thermopad® product line.

      Since the
ETVA offers greater shift, it can perform the attenuation level of two standard TVA's providing reduced component count and reduced insertion loss for the same level of compensation. The ETVA truly addresses the need for greater compensation in amps being driven by the increased power needs of WCDMA systems. In addition to Power Amplifiers (PA) for telecom, they can also be used in narrow-band low-frequency Military and Space applications, including IF circuits, among others.

For additional information on these or any other products from EMC Technology, please contact your EMC representative at PhaseCom or visit the EMC web site:
      www.emct.com.
